About College Library
The Kavery Engineering College Central Library is located on a separate floor with a built-up area of 920 square meters and has a seating capacity of 200 students. In addition to the Central Library, each department has its own departmental library with subject-specific books borrowed from the Central Library for quick reference and academic support.
The Central Library houses a rich collection of 35,000 printed books with 15,000 titles covering various disciplines of Engineering and Technology, Science and Humanities, and Management Studies. It also preserves old issues of journals, publications, project reports, previous semester Anna University question papers, educational CDs, NPTEL videos, e-books, and databases to support teaching, research, and extension activities.
Under the AICTE Consortium, the library subscribes to nearly 12,000 scholarly journals and also provides access to a wide range of online full-text journals, NDL resources, J-Gate journals, and 108 print versions of refereed journals from various publishers. To support visually impaired users, the library utilizes Braille Blaster Software.
The library is fully automated through the Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) using AutoLib software version 5.0 (updated in 2022). This web-based system streamlines cataloguing, circulation, acquisitions, and resource management while enabling students and staff to easily access library resources through OPAC, report management, circulation control, and bar-coding modules.
The Library Resource Center is equipped with modern information technologies such as CD/DVD access systems, multimedia kits, barcode scanners, text and graphic scanners, and hard disk-based access to digital resources. The center aims to facilitate the production and dissemination of knowledge, information, insights, and intellectual contributions among the academic and business communities.
